Hi, my name is Sheeta and I am a 1 year old DNA Tested Female dark blue cobalt lineolated parakeet also known as a Linnie. I joined the rescue after my Previous Owner’s apartment was raided because he had too many pigeons. During the raid, he snuck me out of my cage and put me in his pocket! I was extremely stressed out, and it was a very hot summers day, and the whole experience was extremely traumatic for me, but he reached out to my rescuer because he knew she had a way with birds, most people had never heard of my species, but they like how quiet and calm we are. I was very anxious and scared when I first came to the rescue and I didn’t wanna do anything except lay under her neck and sleep, but I soon opened up And started socializing with other birds, but my favorite thing in the world is watching people, I’m a bit of a diva and the way I show affection is flashing my bombastic side eye and giving her gentle kisses when she Offers me her finger. my species is known to be on the timid side, so a calmer environment will help me open up a lot quicker than a noisy chaotic environment. I do enjoy the company of other birds that are used to smaller birds (I am smaller than a love bird) but even though I am tiny, I have a huge personality and I’m not scared of other animals and will approach any dog or cat assuming they are friends so I need to be heavily monitored if your pets have any prey drive or aren’t used to birds because I am 1 bite to most pets. I haven’t started talking yet, but I tried to mumble and mudder little words when you talk to me and I love being told how cute I am I don’t have any songs memorized, but I will hum you a little tune if you drown me in compliments.
